Hexagon Housing Association Limited
Overall Project Value: Over £2m
Guildmore was employed by our client, Hexagon, to deliver Remedial works to the balconies across 6 of their affordable residential dwellings. Balconies had to be stripped of combustible materials and made fire safe.
Our first step was to carry out surveys of all balconies to establish build ups, design and structural
surveys/visits before commencing with the works. A thorough investigation at the start enabled us to minimise unexpected issues as the project progressed.
Works were carried out whilst the apartments were in full occupancy. It was phased to cause the least
disruption to residents. One challenge we faced was to restrict access to the balconies whilst works was being carried out. We were conscious to work efficiently so that residents could again have the use of their balconies.
Good resident communication and liaisons were essential in the successful delivery of the project.
We can proudly say that the works was completed with almost no defects and that we have received a high number of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Client and resident feedback was positive.
At Guildmore we feel that resident communication and liaisons are essential in the successful delivery of a
project.
