6 residential mansion blocks at King's Chelsea Estate

Completion of Cladding Remediation Project at King’s Chelsea Estate

Guildmore’s Facades and Cladding Business Unit completes cladding remediation works at prestigious residential site in Chelsea, West London

The £6.4m cladding remediation project comprised the removal of non-compliant external fittings and replacement with an EWS1 Certified, fire-safe cladding system on six residential mansion blocks. K.C Estate Management Limited was the client, with CHPK acting as the Employer’s agent.

The works were completed ahead of schedule, taking just 71 weeks despite the logistical challenges of working on a live site in a crowded Central London location. Our specialist team started the cladding remediation project by removing the existing, non-compliant materials. We then installed new A1-rated dual density stone wall insulation products and high-spec A1-rated breather membranes, making the blocks compliant with current building safety regulations.

Our project delivery team took several steps to minimise disruption for residents, such as providing advanced notice for all works and maintaining strict noise reduction protocols for the duration of the project. Our team had on-site support, with a full-time resident liaison officer working closely with block management to address resident concerns and provide updates in a timely manner.

Project manager Leonid Ibriciuc said:

“We are delighted with the successful outcome of this project, particularly the fact that it was completed ahead of schedule. Both the client and employers were a pleasure to work with and we hope that the residents can now feel the full benefits of these cladding remediation works.”

Mark Perkins, managing director of K.C. Estate Management Limited, said:

“A combination of ethics, practicality and problem solving is Guildmore’s approach.

“I found Guildmore adopted a very professional approach and possess a great deal of experience relating to various cladding systems. Guildmore were always proactive and keen to use their extensive knowledge to provide design advice and present ideas and solutions.

“All the above meant that, despite a very tight 18-month programme of works, the entire process was executed very smoothly, ahead of time, and resulted in very happy clients.”

To celebrate the successful completion of the project, our team hosted a Wine and Cheese evening with our clients, residents and other key stakeholders.
