Focus on sustainability
Growing demand for affordable rented housing in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets forced the council to examine its land portfolio to release space for the construction of much needed residential accommodation. After a competitive public tender, Guildmore were selected as the successful contractor to restore the Baths and construct:
- 60 new council rented flats
- Environmentally responsible ‘green building’
Designed, built & financed
Working together with GLL, one of the UK’s largest operators of public leisure facilities, we established a consortium to design, build and finance this project, including the maintenance and operation of the leisure centre over a 35 year period. This partnership has allowed us to focus on creating a new facility of lasting quality, worthy of the craftsmen who designed and constructed this fine building over 80 years ago.
Affordable Housing
Tower Hamlets council recognise that there is a vital need for affordable housing in the borough. With the provision of 60 new flats, Guildmore contribute to meeting the council priority for affordable housing.
