Randall House Cladding

Project: Randall House – Poplar Baths Residential

RHColl

An exciting project, bringing leisure facilities to this grade II listed building

The supply of affordable, high quality housing is one of the greatest challenges facing London today. The Guildmore approach, working as development partners with local authorities and housing associations, is a model which combines our skills in design and construction with the expertise of those responsible for the long term operation and management of residential property.

On 26 June 2014, Tower Hamlets council signed a £36m deal with Guildmore to transform Poplar Baths and Haileybury Youth Centre with Dame Colet Court, into the East End’s newest leisure centre and housing development.

New community leisure resource & residential apartments

This new development, now completed and handed back to Tower Hamlets council, brings exciting facilities for the community as well as a much needed housing development and powerful investment into Tower Hamlets.

After careful planning and consultations with Tower Hamlets Council and local residents, Guildmore commenced work on site to transform Poplar Baths and nearby Dame Colet Court into an exciting new community leisure resource centre and residential apartments.

The project sees the restoration of Poplar Baths – the Grade II listed building and former swimming pool opposite Chrisp Street market – designed by Pringle Richards Sharratt Architects. This brings an additional 60 new council homes designed by CZWG Architects at this site.

We have also developed Dame Colet Court – a former housing block that was no longer in use – with CZWG & Stephen Bradbury Architects and nearby Haileybury Youth Centre in Stepney, also with Pringle Richards Sharratt.
